About the Game
Real tennis, the original form of modern tennis, is played indoors on an asymmetrical court with walls and sloping surfaces that add complexity to each rally. Using handmade balls and wooden racquets, the game blends strategy, skill, and centuries of tradition for a dynamic, competitive experience.
- Court: Played on an indoor court with asymmetrical walls and unique features like the “tambour” and “dedans.”
- Equipment: Uses handmade balls (less bouncy than regular tennis balls) and wooden racquets with smaller, oval heads.
- Scoring: Similar to modern tennis (15, 30, 40) but includes “chases,” which are unique rules based on ball placement.
